This song came to me at 1am on February 16, just two days after Valentine's day while I was in a hotel room by myself after having a fantastic HarmonyCon. I worked out the melody in my head while on the plane back + threw it together the following week. I was absolutely obsessed with it, listening to it around 4 times a day for months, but I couldn't put my finger on why. Up until this year, I've identified as asexual. I didn't get crushes, I didn't go on dates, I just wasn't looking for someone, and I certainly wasn't looking for anything physical. So why was I writing this song?

Music is often an emotional outlet for me, and unknowingly, I think I dumped a huge amount of my unexpressed self into this one. Only after listening back to it, did I realize I wanted to find someone, and I also realized that I was demisexual not ace. It's so funny how demi-coded the lyrics are, with a lot of it being about attraction forming between people who were previously only friends. There's also a few spicy lyrics thrown in because... you know xD

Some people will inevitably listen to this track and think it's either shallow or just trying to grab attention. For me though, it's a song where I found myself. I'm really excited to share it with you all this pride month.
